Artists Statment

My work blends a technical and scientific approach to music and visual arts with an unwavering dedication to the fine arts—a passion deeply rooted in my early experiences and professional background. Growing up, I immersed myself in the arts: I played clarinet, saxophone, and bass guitar. I received a prestigious music education in the public school system—an achievement that contributed to our program being recognized with a Grammy Award for the best music program in America. I continued playing in the University Of Oregon Marching Band.

Building on this strong foundation, my technical explorations converge with construction engineering to create immersive, interactive installations. I harness digital audio workstations (DAWs), 3D modeling, digital fabrication, and generative interactive programming to render comprehensive audio-visual experiences within meticulously constructed dynamic physical spaces. Spaces are created through the intricate synchronization of architecture, light, audio, and video—enabling programmatic transformations that invite viewers into environments where art, science, and technology coalesce. Rooted in natural science and a visual language influenced by cymatics, cellular automata, and algorithmic modeling, my work resonates by drawing cues from the myriad organic, archetypical, and artificial forms that our waking consciousness filters daily.

In my higher education, I initially pursued architecture. My journey took a transformative turn as I studied Neuropsychology, cognition, and the study of human consciousness. Critical thinking, whether sparked by dreams, LSD, or subconcious transmissions, underpins groundbreaking discoveries from Crick and Watson to innovators like Steve Jobs. I was able to rekindle my relationship with architecture early in my career while producing events with Acme Scenic & Display. Colleagues used AutoCAD to design sets and floorplans. I learned Autocad in public school, and seized the opportunity. These formative years working at Acme profoundly contributed to my expertise in architectural design, new media, and interactive arts.

My artistic influences span a diverse spectrum—from the musical brilliance of Ravel and the neuroaesthetic insights of VS Ramachandran, to the pioneering sounds of Pink Floyd and the visionary ideas of Terence McKenna, Salvador Dalí, Aldous Huxley, Tool, Paul Prudence, Tarik Bari, and Refik Anadol. These figures push the boundaries of their disciplines while remaining intimately connected with their audiences. Today, my work compiles my life’s experiences into engaging installations—whether through solo permanent exhibitions, virtual showcases, or live dynamic physical spaces.

Recognizing that our waking consciousness senses only a fraction of reality—and that the scale of Earth in the vast universe reflects the unknown—my work seeks to position the audience and their sense of self as a third synonym for the unknown, illuminating introspection in the face of uncertainty and fostering a space for working through doubt.
